Autumn Seminar: Art of Stonemasonry
The autumn seminar, dedicated to the art of stonework – the study and use of stone – seeks to be a space for scientific reflection, with participants from different areas, enabling the exchange of knowledge on historical-artistic and methodological topics, as well as conservation and restoration. At the same time, the respective meeting seeks to contribute to reinforcing the artistic and cultural value of the art of stonework.
This event is organised by the Applied Arts School of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco, RETHINK and ARTIS – Institute of History of Art of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon. Partners in this initiative are also the Red Temática de Investigación Cooperativa sobre Arte Tardogótico (Ss. XV-XVI), the University of Salamanca and the City Hall of Castelo Branco, Museu do Canteiro and the Culture, History, Arts and Heritage Study Centre.

SCA 2022
The seventh edition of the International Conference on Smart City Applications – SCA2022, held from 19 to 21 October at the School of Technology, in hybrid mode (face-to-face and online), was organized by the IPCB in partnership with the Mediterranean Association for Science and Sustainable Development (Medi-ADD).
The event aims to bring together researchers, scientists and engineers who present experimental or theoretical results on innovative projects and use cases, highlighting current trends in the area of smart cities.

ICOPEV 2022
On 29 and 30 September, the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco (IPCB) organised in its School of Technology the ICOPEV 2022 – International Conference on Production Economics and Project Evaluation, an event whose aim is to bring together academics and professionals from various fields of interest in the areas of production economics, engineering and innovation management, entrepreneurship, decision making or business intelligence.

Strategic Plan for Proença-a-Nova
The work of socio-economic and territorial characterization of Proença-a-Nova Municipality allowed to raise important questions regarding the challenges for intervention, public and private. The challenges to be considered in the decision process on the options to follow were addressed and, through these results, a deliberation of solutions that identify the strategic axes of intervention and projects considered a priority in supporting the next cycle of development of the municipality.
The PEDPN is anchored not only on the contributions of the territorial agents and the political will of the Municipality, but also on the territorial and socio-economic reality.
i9TEC Summit '22
The i9TEC SUMMIT – Regional Competitiveness and Sustainability Forum, held on 29th June, was organised by the Polytechnic of Castelo Branco and included the presentation of R&D+I projects for the agro-industrial and technological sector, round tables on industrial innovation and the valorisation and transfer of knowledge and also communications on the challenges and opportunities of the recovery and resilience plan, regional competitiveness and valorisation of water resources.

EIMAD — 2ND Call for Papers
The Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco, through the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas promotes, the 8th EIMAD – International Meeting of Research in Music, Art and Design, on 07,08 and 09 of July 2022. The congress will provide a space for sharing and dissemination of research results in areas of design, music and arts.
