Value Co-creation in Digital Design through Visual Exploratory Assessment
The research project “Value Co-creation in Digital Design through Visual Exploratory Assessment” under development at the Center for Research in Architecture, Urbanism and Design (CIAUD) Faculty of Architecture of Lisbon, in the scope of the Post-Doctoral course in Design. The investigation is temporarily delimited between 2018 and 2020.
The project focuses on the development of exploratory studies, in the foundation of a Digital Design project in the teaching-learning context, and aims to focus on some problems observed at the beginning of a project in the scope of diagnostic studies, systematization, visual literacy and argumentation.
In the context of teaching and learning in Digital Design, there is a difficulty on the part of students in systematizing thinking. When presenting a project, the sudden and accelerated development of solutions ends up resulting in unfocused projections sowing frustration in its authors.
This situation links to the students’ ability to argue in the conduct of the project, associated with the collection of culturally contextualized elements in the level of visual literacy. The argumentation of conducting a project that does not contain a phase of reflected diagnosis presents weaknesses that compromise its execution and defense – discussion.
In the Digital Design project, it is imperative to develop critical assertions rather than solutions obtained by artificial intelligence. The experimental development to be developed will focus in an introductory phase of a project module.
